God said, “Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy”, the fourth commandment of the Ten Commandments. The Sabbath that God said to keep is “Saturday”, not “Sunday”. Then, why do so many churches keep Sunday worship?
What each country views as valuable is different. In Bolivia, sugar is precious and is considered valuable, but not in Korea. In South Korea, tropical fruit is considered precious but in Bolivia, it is everywhere so even if it’s right beside someone, they just pass it by.
The Sabbath Day is the same. Even though many people in the world consider it worthless, angels in heaven envy and even long to look into this truth of salvation (1Peter 1:7-12). Since it has great value in the spiritual world, Satan hindered the Sabbath so it would not be made known and changed the truth of salvation from the Sabbath Day to Sunday (Daniel 7: 24-25). The Spanish Bible clearly records the Sabbath Day is Saturday (sabado), however people worship on Sunday because they don’t know its value.
“He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the Synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read,” (Luke 4:16).
Jesus, who is Creator God, showed us an example of keeping the Sabbath of the new covenant and not offering a sacrifice of a sheep or goat of the first covenant. The apostles also kept the Sabbath of the new covenant just as Jesus set them an example.
“As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,” (Acts 17:2).
The Sabbath day is a precious commandment of God that must never be replaced with any treasure of the world.
